The Foundation
Marsekal Pertama Dr. I Dewa Ketut Kerta Widana, SKM., MKKK. The conceptualization and establishment of the program began with rigorous academic planning and strategic foresight. Air First Marshal Dr. I Dewa Ketut Kerta Widana, SKM., MKKK., served as the Chairman of the drafting committee for the initial academic manuscript. Under his strategic direction, the foundational framework of the Biology program was meticulously designed to align fundamental life sciences with critical military and defense applications, laying the groundwork for a curriculum unique to the Defense University.
Inaugural Head of the Study Program (2020 – 2025)
Kolonel Ckm. Nurhadiyanta, S.Si., M.Si. Upon its official establishment in 2020, the study program was entrusted to Kol. Ckm. Nurhadiyanta, S.Si., M.Si., as the first Head of the Study Program. During his tenure from 2020 to 2025, he successfully translated the academic manuscript into a fully operational and effective educational system. His leadership was instrumental in guiding the program through its formative years, building the essential academic infrastructure, and securing the program's initial accreditation. His dedication established a robust academic and disciplined culture within the department.
Current Head of the Study Program (2025 – Present)
Kolonel Arh. Sukanto, S.Si., M.Sc. In 2025, the leadership baton was passed to Kol. Arh. Sukanto, S.Si., M.Sc. Building upon the strong foundation laid by his predecessors, his leadership focuses on accelerating the program toward new heights of academic and research excellence. Guiding the department through its latest advancements, he plays a pivotal role in maintaining the program's newly achieved "UNGGUL" (Excellent) accreditation status. He continues to drive the department toward international recognition, fostering advanced research initiatives in defense biology, biotechnology, and sustainable biodiversity to unequivocally support national resilience.
